Tora Karate Tournament

2 Dec

Crouching Tiger Karate are proud to report that we had over 50 competitors at the Tora Karate Invitational Tournament on Saturday 30th November. We would like to thank and congratulate ALL students who took part in this event as well as their parents for their fantastic support.

The highlights of the day include Kai Jewson was awarded a special trophy for standing out as the top competitor with ‘outstanding martial spirit’ which was a great honour. We would also like to emphasise that it was a massive achievement for Max Hamlyn to come 4th in both Individual Kata and Team Kata as there were over 60 competitors and 20 teams in each of those divisions. Stan Scorer who is only 10 years old and a Blue Belt  was drawn against a 14 year old Black Belt in sparring and gave a great account of himself. It is also a great achievement for our club to have Gold and Silver Medals in the Black Belt Sparring category.

The tournament was very well organised and the judging was very professional. It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain experience whether they won medals or not. We are looking forward to the same event next year!
